Re: Microsoft Office
You can also pay for Google Docs, that gives you more storage, support when needed, backup of files, etc etc

Do Google give their Google Drive away free just to piss of MS, or is there another reason? You know the adage - if it's free, you're the product.

My current client has just dropped ALL IT support for Microsoft products and is encouraging everybody to move over to Google/Alphabet supplied products, where possible.

The biggest problem is the inertia driven by familiarity, but I've not found anything that I can do in Office that I can't do with Google Docs - and I seriously cane Office at the moment.

I would love to see anyone in here missing any functions Google docs has to offer.
It's free, it's on multiple platforms and can be used offline.

Most people talking down bthis product doesn't know it.

I'm hating this yearly Office 365 renewal at £80 a pop. Bring back the days of purchasing the product on CD and having it for a few years.

Paid a tenner on eBay for Office Professional Plus 2016. They emailed me the code. Still working 18 months later, no sign it will stop.

Re: Microsoft Office
Find someone whose work has the Home Use Scheme, or one of the ebayers selling the links from it, and pay a tenner for the complete version.

LibreOffice and Google Apps are fine, but they’re not as fully functioned.

Or pay £6 a month for an Office 365 license

Google Drive is just as good and is free.

The torrent route is very unreliable these days, bite the bullet and pay or use open software as suggested.

I bought a Ultra Book from mycheaplaptop.co.uk MS Office was an extra £40 I. Think - plenty of sites you can buy an MSO licence for under £50 for a lifetime subscription

Why give Bill Gates six quid a month? Or anyone else for that matter. He doesn't need it and for most people Libre Office or Open Office are just fine.

Costs around £6.00 a month. No one is THAT tight.
